David Estrada Day - November 13, 2006

I am in a fantasy football league with a lot of friends from Austin and all around. One of the best parts about playing this game is making friendly wagers with our opponent each weekend.

We've made all sorts of bets over the years amongst friends in the league. Bets such as the loser having to wash the winner's car or the loser having to buy all the winner's beers one night out.

I thought of a creative bet with a friend of mine in the league, Guy Jackson. You see, two years ago Guy was elected mayor of Anahuac, TX - a small city east of Houston with a population of 2,210. As our football teams went head to head one week I proposed the following wager to him:

- If his fantasy football team beat mine I would have to purchase world famous Salt Lick Barbeque and deliver it to him in Anahuac.
- If MY fantasy football team beat his then as mayor of Anahuac, TX he would have to officially declare it to be "David Estrada Day" and present me with the key to the city.

I WON! Check out the scan of the official proclaimation. What was even cooler was that November 13, 2006 was also a city council meeting night in Anahuac so he declared it to be officially my day during the meeting.
